Our Precious and Powerful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, instructed his disciples how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. There can be no greater template for prayer than the one He has left us:
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
