Have you wanted to make more of a positive impact in the lives of your loved ones and community? Many of us do, but we feel powerless because of some of the issues we face personally. We feel socially isolated, and that no one understands who we are and what we’re feeling. It is important for us to know that nothing about us is a mistake. We are God’s masterpieces, His finest workmanship, and He has a plan for our lives.
In Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT), Jesus Christ said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Our Lord and Savior extends us an invitation. We can come to him with our heavy burdens, and he will give us rest. We don’t always know why we struggle and why things affect us the way they do, but Jesus knows our hearts. He knows exactly what we need.
We pray the biblical resources we offer will help you realize the tools God has given you to move from blessing to blessing, and to live the life of impact that He has destined for you. We believe these resources will help you grow spiritually, so you become the person God has created you to be.
LONELINESS EPIDEMIC
Loneliness is described as the state of being alone, but many define it as a state of mind. Whenever we talk about the mind, God points us in the direction of the mind of Christ. 1Corinthians 2:16(NLT) says, “For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.” This verse confirms for us that our minds have the capacity to think and operate just like Jesus Christ. As we come into our true identity in him, and we are spiritually awakened through Jesus Christ, he will transform us. Our minds are key to this transformation.
Jesus Christ doesn’t come into our minds and start shoving the bad stuff out and putting the good stuff in. No. He works with us as we take the steps to believe in him and to believe in the transformation he makes possible. He tells us in Ephesians 4:23 to be renewed in our minds. This means that we must change the way we think and change our attitudes, so that we begin to think like Jesus Christ. We were created in his image, and victory in life is contained within our actions to think and behave like him. As we do this, we engage the power of the Holy Spirit in a powerful way.
We live from the inside out. As we commit ourselves to learn more about Jesus Christ, he will teach us through the Holy Spirit to overcome many of the personal issues we’re facing today.

SOCIAL ISOLATION
Not every one is a social butterfly. Some of us prefer the company of our own minds, and shyness is a way of life. Others feel socially isolated because of reasons having to do with both internal and external factors. There can be no denying that social isolation is increasing, and for some this separation from people contact is accompanied by deep sadness. Social isolation can lead to loneliness, and both of these can cause us to feel stuck in life.
Social isolation and loneliness are not new problems. From the very beginning, in Genesis 2:18, God said that it wasn’t good that Adam, the first man, should be alone. Heavenly Father created us with a need to connect to others. So, He made a companion for Adam, her name was Eve.
We all have a need to connect, it’s just the way we’re wired, but sometimes we have other things going on in our hearts and minds that make fear the go-to emotion rather than faith. This causes our wiring to be faulty, and it can also cause us to feel isolated and alone. God has a solution that is unique to every individual’s situation. He only requires that we trust Him.
