Dear Heavenly Father,
You are holy, powerful, all-knowing, and purely amazing. You have no equal, and there is none that compares to You. Thank You for being our Abba Father, and for making it possible through Jesus Christ to be Your children. Being a part of Your family is the greatest privilege in eternity, and we are so blessed to walk and talk with You every day.
Thank You so much for Your unconditional love, Heavenly Father. Your beloved Son said in John 3:16(NKJV), “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Through Your wonderful Son, You have revealed Your plan for our salvation, and this tells us all we need to know about your great love for us all. Jesus Christ died for everyone, not just the most religious or those who think themselves more pleasing to You than others. He gave his life for the sinner and for those that don’t yet know You, even for those that will never acknowledge Your love. How exquisite Your mercy and grace are, and we will never reach the end of them.
Lord, please help us to realize how blessed we are to witness the mercy You demonstrate towards us. We don’t deserve it, but because of Your grace, You have redeemed us and invited us to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. He came to the earth to save us from death and to give us life, so that we can live through him. He tells us in John 14:6 that he is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one can come to You except through him. Living through Jesus Christ is the way to live life! Dear Heavenly Father, so many will not believe this. They hear Your invitation to come into Your love and care, and they run in the opposite direction. They hear Your instruction and directives for a more than abundant existence, but they still choose to do things their own way. This is such a huge mistake.
You tell us in Proverbs 14:12 that there is a path before each person that seems like the right way to go, but it isn’t; instead, this path leads to destruction. Father, we need to walk by the Spirit every moment of each day so that we discern right from wrong and evil from righteousness. Please Dear Father, help us to recognize a trick of the devil when it is before us. Help us to be obedient and to stay close to You by learning about You in Your Word and praying often.
You also tell us in Proverbs 3:5-6(NLT), “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Father, when You tell us something in Your Word, that’s it! No more needs to be said from anyone, because You are the definitive authority of truth. You have elevated Your Word above Your name, and Your Word is always and forever true. When You tell us that something can be done, we have no right to second guess it. If You say it can be done, then best believe, it can be done! There are no “ifs”, “ands” or “buts” about it. We have no right to say, “but Lord, it’s too hard! I can’t do it!” You have empowered us through Jesus Christ, and Philippians 4:13 declares that we can do all things through Christ, because he gives us the strength to do it.
Heavenly Father, please help our unbelief. Please help us to get out of our own way and trust You the way that we should. You have been so good to us and shown us such incredible mercy and grace. On too many occasions we limit Your love, power, and strength from working in us because we refuse to increase our faith, and we must stop doing this if we want to go higher in blessings and spiritual growth. When things look impossible to our physical eyes, we must begin to look at them through our spiritual eyes. When we do this, we will see that as Jesus Christ said in Matthew 19:26(NLT), “With God everything is possible.”
Thank You for Your loving patience with us and for Your willingness to help us grow up into the person that You have called us to be in Christ. Thank You for Jesus Christ and for the Holy Spirit that indwells us. In the name of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. ■
